THE BEATRICE HOLT COLLECTION

Beatrice Howard Holt was a 1918 graduate of Ottawa University. Holt also earned her BA and an MA from the University of Illinois. Holt worked as a librarian and trainer for the United States Information Agency of the State Department in Asia and had the opportunity to travel to India, China, Korea and Pakistan. In 1970, Holt retired to Sun City, Arizona and donated pieces of what is now the Beatrice Holt Collection, to Ottawa University.
The Beatrice Holt Collection includes approximately 830 artifacts and is made up of collections of objects such as: rugs, wall-hangings, sculpture, statuery, brass and copper vessels, platters, trays, bowls, ceramics, textiles, jewelry, wood carvings, furniture and a doll collection. The artifacts were acquired during the 1950's which was designed specifically for the tourist trade in the Far East.
