Collection Beatrice Holt Collection
Description Dark brown, carved wood, seated three dimensional Buddha figure wearing draped clothing. The figure is sitting with one leg folded beneath him and the other leg bent at the knee. The Buddha's two hands are folded over the bent knee. The figure has hair piled on the crown of its head and there are also pigtails extending from either side of the nape of its neck. The carving is fairly detailed with facial features, attention to folds of fabric, and individually carved toes on the visible foot. There is a high gloss finish on the object.
