Description Birch bark cooking basket with a woven lip at top opening. The pot is roughly rectangular in shape with an oval shaped mouth. There is a round patch made of bark that has been sewn to the inside of the basket as there is a hole on the outside of that area. There are several dark spots which are natural discolorations of the bark. The bark is folded, reinforced, and then sewn together. This sort of pot was used by Northwoods Indians.
