Description Ivory sewing awl. One end to punch holes in leather or other thick materials and the other end acts as needle. The needle end has been carefully carved and it appears as a zoomorphic head. The carved portions have been filled in with a dark pigment. The needle end is connected to the other end with carved ivory links.
