Description Carved ivory fetish of a walrus head. The walrus has two long tusks, holes for the nose, and a brown streak on its side. Fetishes and charms were used in fishing and hunting as good luck pieces. After capturing an animal, its body had to be treated carefully and respectfully so as not to be offended which might bring bad luck or death to the hunter and his people.
