Description 
Carved wooden fetish of a polar bear painted with a white pigment. The bear has two stone eyes and a pink mouth. Fetishes and charms were used in fishing and hunting as good luck pieces. After capturing an animal, its body had to be treated carefully and respectfully so as not to be offended which might bring bad luck or death to the hunter and his people. Written in pen on the bottom of the front foot: "7000"
